Case Study: Creating an Immersive 3D Exhibition for UPS to Showcase Innovation in Logistics

UPS, one of the world’s largest shipping and logistics companies, has innovation at its core. When in-person exhibitions were cancelled in 2020 due to covid, UPS needed a new way to share its forward-looking vision and engage with audiences worldwide.

Alongside design agency Engine Creative we worked with UPS to create a 3D digital pavilion—a fully immersive, interactive experience that allowed global visitors to explore UPS’s vision of the future of logistics from anywhere.

CHALLENGE

Building an Accessible, Engaging Digital Exhibition.

With traditional exhibitions on hold, UPS needed a solution that would:
1. Showcase their innovative logistics solutions in a way that was inclusive and easily accessible in a digital format.
2. Provide a fully immersive, guided experience to replicate the intimacy of in-person events.
3. Engage prospects and maintain long-term interest with content that could be regularly updated, with built in analytic tools.

Our solution involved the creation of a 3D digital pavilion featuring themed zones to showcase “the future of logistics.”

1. Interactive Exhibits & Virtual Avatars
Each zone included digital plinths, video content, and interactive portals, guided by virtual avatars of UPS C-suite executives who introduced core innovations.

2. AI Chatbot for User Support
An AI chatbot provided seamless navigation and personalised guidance, designed to enrich the user experience, and reinforce UPS’s brand messages.

3. Real-Time Analytics and Ongoing Updates
Integrated analytics tracked visitor interactions, offering insights to UPS and allowing continuous content updates to keep users engaged.
