Our Story

Fluent Media is an innovative new agency founded by content producer Matt Castle. With 15+ years experience bringing impactful stories to life through film, animation and immersive technologies like VR & AR, Matt has shown a relentless commitment to bringing stories to life that matter.

Whether creating episodic content, video podcasts or interactive experiences to improve learning outcomes, our focus is on enhancing clarity and connection. We harness the power of storytelling and narrative psychology for personal, professional, organisational and social change.

Fluent Media adopts a data-informed and iterative approach to storytelling and communication strategies, for both internal or external audiences. Our approach is strategic and proactive. We help clients discover and refine a unique narrative around what they do, where they want to get to and the impact their work creates. Testing and trialling allow us to refine approaches, ensuring maximum engagement and alignment between audience needs and the unique values each of our clients stand for.

This helps to create a ripple effect: building stronger communities, advancing personal and professional development, and fostering deeper connections in a world that craves meaning and purpose.

From helping tech companies like ARuVR raise £5million in investment to empowering underrepresented young people to become more confident, articulate and future focused, our work demonstrates the potential of storytelling to inspire confidence and encourage new ways of thinking.

Meet Our Team

Our talented team of storytellers, strategists, and creators is dedicated to crafting authentic narratives that connect brands with their audiences. We collaborate closely with clients to deliver impactful, innovative solutions that drive real results.

01.

Define your strategy and objectives

The first stage of our process is one of discovery, listening and structured exploration, which is critical for innovation. We’ll work with you to understand the scope of work and propose a solution that fits your budget and meets your requirements.

When defining a strategy that’s unique to your business (that ultimately serves to realise your competitive advantage), We’ll gather information about your company, your expectations and objectives. We’ll agree on a framework for how we will define and measure success, and carry out detailed research into your competitors.

02.

Identify, write and craft stories

Questions we ask, and processes we go through, will help collect the insights to make sense of your story/stories and help you envision the future. This will result in a purposeful, clearly defined strategy that is ready to be acted upon, like a script.

We’ll help you to think not just about what is being communicated, but how it impacts your audience. We’ll define a plan to shape your stories to truly differentiate your brand, in a way your audience relates to and engages with.

03.

Content production

Once strategies have been approved, storyboards agreed and scripts signed off, the content production process can begin. Content or experience will be brought to life on film, or using VR/ AR technology. Our expert production team will ensure each stage is carefully thought through and is an enjoyable process for everyone.

Production schedules will be created, actors or presenters will be cast if required. Coaching sessions for your staff may also be arranged. Once filming for each day of filming is complete, post production will begin, where we can add motion graphics, music, subtitles. We will also produce shorter edits for social media, or made to appeal to specific audiences if required.

04.

Track results and measure success

Your stories may be published to your internal platforms, broadcast on your website or through social media, according to the plan agreed at the start of the project or campaign. Having defined how interactivity will enhance the user experience during the initial stage, we will implement the interactive overlays according to the agreed plan.

We will ensure you have full visibility and deeper insight on how viewers are relating and responding to your content through a comprehensive dashboard.

Stories are a universal language that transcends cultural, linguistic, and cognitive boundaries. For neurodiverse individuals, this familiarity can provide a comforting framework within which information is presented.

Stories provide context, making abstract concepts tangible. Individuals with conditions such as dyslexia, may struggle with isolated facts or figures. A narrative provides a holistic picture, making it easier to process and internalise information.

Stories allow us to walk in someone else’s shoes. For fostering understanding between neurodiverse individuals and neurotypical individuals, stories can be instrumental. By narrating experiences of ADHD or autism, for example, stories can foster empathy and understanding among those unfamiliar with these conditions.

Stories stimulate the mind’s eye. Visualisation can be a powerful tool, especially for those who might find traditional learning methods challenging. By creating a mental picture, stories can simplify complex ideas, making them accessible to all.

Stories evoke emotions. They make us feel empathy, joy, fear, excitement, and a myriad of other feelings. Emotions are key to memory and recall. For many, especially those who might process information differently due to conditions like ADHD or autism, an emotional connection can be pivotal in understanding and remembering important information.

Good stories engage multiple senses – sight, sound, and sometimes even touch or smell. This multisensory engagement can be particularly beneficial for neurodiverse individuals. For instance, someone with ADHD might find it easier to focus on a story that’s both visually and audibly engaging.

Stories can be told in myriad ways—through books, videos, audio narratives, interactive games, and more. This flexibility ensures that content can be tailored to suit varied learning styles, which is crucial for a neurodiverse audience.

The classic story structure (beginning, middle, end) can be predictable. For individuals with neurodiverse conditions, who often find comfort in repetition and predictability, this structure can make stories a preferred mode of receiving information. In summary, stories are not just a means of entertainment. They are powerful tools that cater to our cognitive, emotional, and social needs. Stories can offer a bridge, facilitating understanding, connection, and learning.
